Who we are

We’re Alex and Lana – the husband – wife duo behind Cultured Adventurer that has been traveling throughout Europe as a couple or with our two kids for over 20 years.

Alex founded Cultured Adventurer with his passion for European travel. After Alex’s unexpected passing, Lana felt called to honor his spirit by carrying the company forward, sharing their signature blend of culture, camaraderie, and seamless travel with new and returning clients alike.

Our love for exploration, history, architecture, local food (and drink), and meeting new people, taught us firsthand that overseas travel may not always be easy, but the memories and experiences are well worth it!

From the first call to Alex - describing a hazy idea of where, when and what we wanted to do in Europe - to his welcome back phone call - I knew by his enthusiasm and knowledge that we were in good hands. He worked with us through every stage of planning our trip, booking flights and hotels, reserving museum and concert tickets, and included restaurant suggestions as well as how much to tip our tour guide and drivers.

My wife and I recently returned from a wonderful 10-day trip that included Venice, Croatia's Istrian peninsula, and Slovenia. We were so delighted that we found Alex for the planning and execution of this most memorable trip. We had never traveled to this region before, but Alex and his team made it effortless, efficient, educational, and delightful.

We took advantage of Alex's guides in each region and couldn't be more pleased with their knowledge, friendliness, and diligence to meet our interests. We look forward to our next adventure with Alex's guidance and care.

We used Alex to plan an amazing trip to Croatia and Slovenia. He is excellent! He created a private itinerary based on our interests and worked with us to modify the trip to make it fit our budget. He is incredibly knowledgeable of the region and hires great local guides and drivers. I highly recommend Alex!

Being able to go into places that the main public were not allowed into really enhanced the tours a lot. It was very nice to be in a quiet setting, so you are able to hear about the history you are looking at and be able to ask any questions that come to mind. Each guide was very knowledgeable and friendly!
