A small but incredibly beautiful country with a tiny stretch of Adriatic coast, Slovenia is often overlooked in favor of its more popular neighbors – Italy, Austria, and Croatia, but has in fact a lot to offer – alpine hikes, rolling countryside with quaint villages, a mixture of Italian and Austro-Hungarian historic and cultural heritage, and surprisingly good local food and wine combining Mediterranean, Germanic, and Balkan traditions.
Outdoor enthusiasts will be delighted by the seemingly endless opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, canyoning, rafting, skiing, and snowshoeing, especially in the areas around the Lake Bled and in the Triglav National Park. Way too often, clients’ feedback is that they wished they had planned to spend more time in Slovenia in order to properly explore and enjoy this delightful destination.
